Pastor James T. Elam Jr., affectionately known as “Pastor E,” is a dynamic and charismatic leader committed to preaching the Gospel of Grace and empowering believers through the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. A native of Isle of Wight County, Virginia, he is the son of the late Pastor James T. and Bernice Elam Sr. Pastor Elam is married to Penny Newman, known as First Lady Penny Elam, and together they are blessed with two sons, James III and Joshua. 

A graduate of Virginia State University and the Richmond Christian Center Bible Institute, Pastor Elam founded Dunamis Christian Center, a non-denominational Word church, with a mission to release the “Dunamis” (miracle-working power) of God while preaching the Gospel of Grace. His vision is to teach and preach the Word of God with demonstration of the Spirit and Dunamis power, making a difference in the lives of people and ultimately changing them to become anointed like Christ. 

As an author, Pastor Elam has written two impactful books: 

• 10 Reasons Satan Does Not Want the Believer Filled and Speaking in Tongues – This book emphasizes the importance of speaking in tongues as a vital tool for believers to walk in love, pray for God’s perfect will, and receive power to overcome the enemy. 

• Resting in the Finished Works of Jesus: Stay Seated in Your Executive Authority – Inspired by his released song “Rest in the Finished Work,” this book encourages believers to trust in God’s promises and rest in His completed work. 

Pastor Elam’s ministry extends beyond the pulpit. He hosts events like the Men’s Empowerment Conference, aiming to guide men from ordinary to extraordinary lives through faith and purpose. 

Under his leadership, Dunamis Christian Center has become a beacon of hope and empowerment, reaching individuals locally and globally through broadcasts and online platforms. Pastor Elam’s unwavering commitment to the Gospel continues to inspire and transform lives.
